As tourism lies asleep in Florida and around the world after the pandemia, other industries have risen at the sunshine state this 2020. So...if you live in FL and are thinking on what to do next, keep reading, here you will get three hints.
We might not travel much around the earth lately, but Florida as the nation’s historic gateway to space is home to two spaceports leading the way into a new era of commercial space travel. Since 1968 the Kennedy Space Center has been the launch site for every U.S. manned space flight and it continues to be with more plans to explore the galaxy. Just think about it, NASA reported in 2019 its Moon To Mars program, which generated $2 billion in economic impact and supported 10,870 jobs in Florida. Even the Orion crew capsule for the Moon to Mars program is being built at Kennedy Space Center with Elon Musk-owned Space X, Jeff Bezos-owned Blue Origin, Boeing, Relativity Space, Firefly Aerospace, Lockheed, OneWeb Satellites and others setting up shop. With large numbers of rocket scientists, machinists, pilots, and engineers Florida's space industry is getting stronger than ever.

Another industry shining during these hard times is Life Sciences. Yes, we have more than 200 companies specializing in the development of treatments, generics, nutraceuticals, and drugs. Florida ranks second for FDA-registered medical device manufacturing facilities and counts with world-renowned biomedical research institutes, pharmaceutical and medical device companies, and more than 46,000 healthcare establishments. Nearly 19,000 Floridians work in this industry, mostly in Central Florida, Jacksonville, and South Florida. Industry leaders include industry leaders - including Actavis, Arthrex, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Johnson & Johnson, Medtronic, Noven, and Steripak. Who knows? Maybe Floridians find the cure of the malicious COVID-19.

Finally, but not least important or strong is the housing industry. According to Florida Realtors, new pending sales of single-family homes were up 23.2% this June compared to last year. I guess people are preferring to stay safe at home instead of traveling and exposing to the virus. Definitely, the housing industry will be safe for a while here in FL with the mortgage interest rates being record-low (You might wonder... Could this be the time for buying a house? It depends, you might even want to wait). Florida Realtors Chief Economist, Brad O'Connor, says "interest rates are not expected to rise any time soon and they still have some room to go lower, so we have every reason to be optimistic".
With that in mind, which industry are you more interested in?
