50 years of Disney World - How are they celebrating?

To honor the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort, the destination is having a few special events, decorations, shows and merchandise. Keep reading to know everything that Disney is doing to celebrate The World’s Most Magical Celebration starting this October 1.

Disney Enchantment

Behold a nighttime spectacular with Disney music, stunning fireworks and immersive projection effects extending from Cinderella Castle down Main Street, U.S.A.

Harmonious

Be entranced by a new nighttime spectacular over World Showcase Lagoon at Epcot, with pyrotechnics, fountains, dazzling lights, and more!

KiteTails

Hearts and imaginations will soar as incredible kites and windcatchers dance through the air to the beat of beloved Disney songs during this high-flying performance at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park. Be awed by elaborate, three-dimensional kites of Simba, Zazu, King Louie, Baloo and more as they take flight above the Discovery River Amphitheater.

Remy's Ratatouille Adventure

A 4D ride experience at Epcot's World Showcase with Chef Remy taking you on a daring culinary caper that will captivate your senses as you zip, dash and scurry through the bustling kitchen, dining room and walls of Gusteau’s famous Paris restaurant. C’est magnifique!

Beacons of Magic

The World’s Most Magical Celebration will light up with wonder as the theme park icons are transformed into Beacons of Magic.

• At Magic Kingdom, Cinderella Castle will illuminate the park with a dazzling glow that sparkles with pixie dust.

• At Epcot, lights will shine from within Spaceship Earth’s reflective panels as stardust emerges to symbolize beacons of possibility and optimism.

• At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Hollywood Tower Hotel will glitter with EARidescence, evoking the glimmer and shimmer of the golden age of imagination and adventure.

• And at Disney's Animal Kingdom, a warm and glorious light will emanate from the Tree of Life, as enchanted fireflies gather to call forth the magic of nature.

A whole new merchandise collection is being brought to celebrate the 50 year anniversary so you can take a piece of it home. All from Apparel & Accessories, Art & Collectibles, Gifts & Housewares, Mickey Ears, Pins to Toys & Plush and Vinylmation.
