Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Opened at Disneyland (California) – Soon in Orlando!

An entire new Star Wars land opened this past May 31 inside Disneyland park at Anaheim, California. The opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge was epic and huge! All the important people were there for the ceremony, from George Lucas (Star Wars creator) and Harrison Ford (Han Solo) to Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger and Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker).

According to Disney, the major offerings will be nearly the same at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando. Now, while Florida waits to welcome the same land this upcoming August 29 at Walt Disney World, take a look at what we can expect to see!

- The journey will take you inside a full-size starship and aboard a nearby Star Destroyer.

TIP: Download Play Disney Parks Mobile App

When accessed inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the app transforms your smartphone into a Star Wars Datapad. You will be able to scan the contents hidden inside containers, translate languages, and tune into communications happening throughout the land. This tool also hacks into droids and door panels (what the locals call “slicing”) to unlock additional stories.

Now… get ready to visit Batuu, the far-flung destination along the galaxy’s Outer Rim, on the frontier of Wild Space – the uncharted region beyond all known star systems. And be prepared! Along the way, you may encounter some familiar faces like Kylo Ren, Finn, Poe, BB-8, and Chewie.

Beware, if you want to visit the new land in California between May 31 and June 23, you must have a reservation. At the moment, it can be obtained by staying at one of the 3 Disneyland Resort hotels between those dates. Stay stunned to #VIPToursFL for the opening in Florida because you might also need to make a reservation.
