In June 2018, Lime and Bird removed the scooters from the streets of Miami due to the controversy that these generated and the risk they represented for pedestrians and other transporters. Today, we heard they are back!

The commissioners seek to establish a regulation that limits the number of units and places to park. In addition, they propose the development of an information process, the installation of customer service and the establishment of operational permission. Miami Mayor, Francis Suárez, informed today with a Twitter that a pilot program for motorized scooters in District 2 was approved.

These scooters can help ease the traffic of the city, mainly in Downtown Miami and Brickell. A group of users has begun a campaign on social media (#BringBirdBackToMiami) claiming permission for the use of these means of ground transportation in Florida’s busiest city.

Here we leave you a safety manual from Bird!
Tell us... Do you think scooters can share the road with pedestrians and cyclists? Is it okay to implement specific places to park?
