Mardi Gras will be ON with Macklemore, Pitbull, and Becky G at Universal!

As everyone knows, Mardi Gras is celebrated big in New Orleans but, actually, it traces back to medieval times in Europe, passing through Rome and Venice in the 17th and 18th centuries to the French House of the Bourbons. In 1703, the settlement of Fort Louis de la Mobile (Alabama) established by the French-Canadian explorer Jean Baptiste Le Moyne Sieur de Bienville celebrated the very first Mardi Gras in the U.S.A.
In 2019, Universal Orlando Resort will continue the Mardi Gras tradition with a party up concert line up, beautiful parades, and traditional food. This year the event runs nightly from February 9 – April 4 at Universal Studios Florida. Below is the list of concerts:

March 9 – Becky G

March 31 – Prince Royce
The parade will count with 12 floats, tons of beads, colorful dancers and stilt performers. This year’s new theme is... Party Animals! (Makes sense with the concert line up right?) Everyone will be dressed as their spirit animals, so start thinking about your own if you are planning to go!
If you are interested in some traditional culinary options pass by the French Quarter Courtyard, where you will be able to find beignets, frog legs, crab etouffee, and crawfish.
